Andrew entered the legal profession to make a difference — to fight for each person’s right to dignity and a fair go. As a Principal Lawyer in Slater and Gordon’s Industrial law and Employment law team, he draws on 20 years of legal experience to help his clients seek justice.
Over his long career, Andrew has proudly counselled working people across all occupations and industries with issues such as breach of contract, enterprise agreement and award contraventions, workplace disputes, wage recovery, unfair dismissal, discrimination, bullying, workplace investigation and disciplinary processes, and sexual harassment. His clients include employees at all levels in the public sector, as well as in finance, health, transportation and logistics, and mining.
Andrew’s broad experience gives him a unique insight into how to best approach each matter and the means to understand and empathise with each client’s particular situation. He brings his extensive knowledge and expertise to every case to help the client obtain the best possible result.
In 2019 and 2020, Doyle’s Guide named Andrew a Leading Employment Lawyer (Plaintiff) in Queensland. The publication previously recognised him as a Recommended Queensland Employment Lawyer in 2017 and 2018. He is a member of the Queensland Law Society and the Industrial Relations Society of Queensland.
Andrew earned a diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law Sydney in 1999 and a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from the University of Queensland in 1997 and 1994, respectively.
Prior to working at Slater and Gordon, he practiced as a barrister in both Sydney and Brisbane.
Enrique Ceca is a partner and head of the labor department at Ceca Magán Abogados, and represents clients in different business sectors such as banking, transportation, energy, industry, hospitality, insurance, and distribution.
Enrique provides legal advice for dismissals, collective dismissals, senior executive matters, collective bargaining and collective conflicts, transfers, unilateral termination by the employee, sanctions, illegal assignment of workers, material changes of working conditions, union elections, social security, sanctions, and other matters related to economically dependent self-employed workers. He speaks Spanish, English, and German, which allows him to communicate with expatriates from around the world who are posted to assignments in Spain.
Louis Century advocates for workers, counseling employees who have lost their jobs or faced discrimination in the workplace. He also represents large groups of employees seeking unpaid overtime and other compensation in class action lawsuits. He is bilingual in French and English.
Deborah Casale is the Head of Practice with Slater and Gordon’s London-based employment team. She counsels clients on all aspects of contentious and non-contentious employment matters including employment contracts, post-termination restrictions, unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing, and equal pay disputes. She has particular experience in the financial services sector and has dealt with many senior executive terminations, settlement agreements, and employment contract reviews across a wide range of sectors.
Deborah has represented financial services professionals, board directors, healthcare professionals, lawyers, accountants, technology, and HR professionals amongst others. In addition, she has advised employees in substantial sex discrimination, pregnancy, and maternity discrimination claims and in cases concerning race discrimination, whistleblowing, and equal pay. Many of these have been against major financial institutions - several of which resulted in favourable six-figure settlements.
Theo Nicou is a specialist in employment and discrimination matters. He counsels clients employed in a wide range of sectors and industries on unfair and constructive unfair dismissal, discrimination, whistleblowing claims, post-termination restrictions, partnership issues and contractual claims in the Employment Tribunal, High Court and arbitrations. He has particular experience in the financial services and sports sectors, and has successfully advised senior executives with regard to whistleblowing claims (including interim relief applications) against multinational organisations and prominent financial institutions, in each case achieving significant settlements.
Besides being a lawyer, Deepak is an associate member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India. He is credited with over 12 years of experience, both as an in-house advisor and in practice. He has substantially worked with Fortune 500 Companies, MNCs (headquartered in Australia, UK, Singapore & Beijing) & Indian business houses, dealt with nationally and internationally renowned law and accounting firms. His inherent sense of adding value, wherever possible, enables him to comprehensively advise clients in a holistic manner.
Deepak regularly advises key managerial employees and employers on myriad employment law matters ranging from compensation and benefits, employment contracts, employee handbook, restrictive covenants and their enforcement, discrimination and harassment, grievance and disciplinary hearings, unfair dismissal, data protection, confidentiality, visa and immigration laws in India, employee exits and separation agreements, etc.
Raunak is the Founding Partner of the Firm and heads the overall operations of the Firm. As a Partner with few of the most reputed law firms of India, he successfully headed their employment law practice in past. He has wide experience in dealing with complex legal issues for domestic and international clients (both employers and employees) in varied sectors. Raunak’s employment law expertise has been highly ranked and recommended by "Legal 500."

Michael is a Principal Lawyer at Slater and Gordon. He was admitted as a lawyer in 1994 and joined Slater and Gordon soon afterwards. Michael has more than 20 years’ experience across the firm’s workers’ compensation, union and employment practices.
Michael uses his skills and experience to help trade unions and their members through workplace struggles. He is keenly aware that the work environment is a very significant part of most people’s lives. Michael believes that it is important to ensure that workers are able to negotiate effectively and respond when their rights are under threat.
Michael is a diligent and compassionate lawyer who will fight to get his clients the best solution. It means a great deal to him to be able to resolve workplace disputes and achieve a measure of justice in a system that often disadvantages trade unions and their members.
